FOCUS

In building your business, if you want it to be a success,  you need a few key ingredients.  First of all you need to know what you want, and then move forward with the end in mind.  Begin to visualize what you want and act as if it has happened, and you will start on the journey to getting what you want.

You must be LASER Focused.  Do not get distracted by even little deal and thing that comes along.   If you are building an business and working online,  almost every week, if not day, a new thing will drop up.  Many sound so good you may be tempted to jump in or take a look.  DO NOT DO THAT.   You will find the grass is not always greener on the other side, and normally if it appears too good to be true, IT IS.

Again this week, I had someone call me, that I knew well.   It was someone I think a lot of, and a "busy" person.   The same person is someone in one of my businesses,  that loves the business but does not have enough hours in the day to focus on it or work it.  They have a LOT of talent, but no production.  Do you know anyone like that?

It was a nice person, with something they just came across that was the next hot thing online.   Again, it may be, but in my book, I know where I'm headed and well on my way to a solid retirement income. 

I did NOT get here by jumping into every hot deal that came along.  I got here by working hard,  and staying focused on the task at hand, building my business one customer, one distributor at a time, and teaching them to do exactly what I do.....stay laser focused, look for leaders, look for influential people that may want to be part of building a company that is destined  for greatness, and being part of a team that is on the same page, duplicates and grows.

I look for ways to provide tools for my team to make their job easier.  I look at things that make sense that will add to what we are doing,  I do NOT look at the latest deals no matter how great they appear.   Being online, you'll have many offers.  Many people will present things to you.   If you want to have your head spinning in circles, look at all of them.   If you want to be a success, find one you like and then focus in on it and do NOT lose that focus.  

Look at the person making all the offers to you.   What do they do? What is their success rate?  Don't go by names dropped?   I have watched many deals over the years supposedly put on by Microsoft, AOL,  IBM, you name it.  NONE happened, but those promoting them insinuated the big name parent was behind it.  My first introduction to this industry, was supposedly a HUGE deal by Home Shopping Network, that left a lot of us having spend 6 months and mega bucks holding the bag.   Don't pay attention to BIG NAMES.

In my case, I base things  by production of the people I'm talking to.  Reality.  I look at  what they have accomplished.  Have they EVER made a 6 figure income in network marketing or do they tell you about some sponsor that is making 6 of 7 figures?    I know lots of 7 figure income earners, and they did NOT get there by jumping into every hot deal.   I also know you can't spend their income.   You make and spend your own income.

This industry has provided me a solid income that I've lived on for the last 5-6 years.   I'm not a multi millionaire, because that has NEVER been my goal.  I don't need to have more money than I can spend or share, and I'm very comfortable.   My goal is to help others make an income where they can enjoy life and be free too, after all, I want friends that have time to travel with me, and see the world.    So my goal is to help my friends reach their dreams and be able to live on the income they achieve from this industry.

I am able to come and go pretty much as I please.  I do not have to worry about paying the next bill.  I buy what I want when I want, so what more do I need? 

Ever hear the phrase, "Give a man a fish you feed him a meal, teach him to fish you feed him for a lifetime."   That's what I do, I teach people what I've learned, that works and what doesn't.  I give them a pole and teach them to fish, and how to land the fish.

I look at the background of the people bringing me all these deals.  Most are in a job they hate, looking for a lifeline.  Most have 2 or 3 or 4 deals, usually some sort of quick money deal.   Most of the deals have NO product or is the latest and greatest pre launch thing out there.    HURRY they say and jump in quick so you can get rich.

WRONG

Building a solid company, if you're in "pre launch" is going to be a very rough year or two.  If they can make it beyond 2, and the massive growth the Jumpers will bring, that jump in and out,  they may have a prayer.  Those in early are going to have LOTS of ups and downs, trials and tribulations.  I speak from experience.   The first 1-2 years of any company is a rough place to be.     If they make it, then those that did go thru lots of stuff with them, and stuck it out, of course will have a better chance to make some serious money down the road.  They will also be the ones with the battle scars.

I've got many of those scars.   That's part of learning.   The only difference between me and anyone of you reading this newsletter, is I have been KNOCKED down and OUT  many more times.   I have made mistakes that would make the faint hearted quit.  I have joined things that failed. I have had companies fail me,  I've had crooks take me for a long ride and take my money.  I've been broken hearted and cried many times, but I KNEW  better than to give up.  To me I've always been focused on making this work one way or another.  I've always been much too stubborn to quit. 

I saw a quote once that said  "quitters never win and winners never quit", and adopted that for my philosophy.      I REFUSED to quit.  I have had to start over and over and over, but I have NEVER quit.   I have left companies in the past when I found integrity issues or them lead by dishonest people.   I have walked away from many because of things like that.   I have been with companies that shut the door and closed down, and had to start from scratch.

Those that know me, know that I do believe in multiple income streams because of that.  Please do NOT send me the latest one, because I'm set, and building what I hope to be my final incomes stream.  I am LASER FOCUSED.   I am NOT interested in any deals, no matter what they are.   I'm not interested in selling my team things like auto responders and leads they wont call anyway.   I teach people to fish, and find leads on their own.   I do not want them paying out tons of money for tools they won't use or things that do not work.   I want to put people into profit.   To do that takes, teaching them the right habits and teaching them to focus in on the task at hand and not get distracted by ANYTHING or ANYONE.

The funny thing to me, is the latest deal that came to me just this week, was brought to me by someone I think is a totally wonderful person.  I have the utmost respect for this person, yet the same person,  does not have time to build the business they have here.   Amazing huh?

Too often these deals that come along look really exciting.  They usually start off as a binary or a matrix, mostly because it excited people to see there are 40 or 50 people in their group quickly.   There may be lots of warm bodies or numbers, but trust me,  6 months from not those bodies will be in someone else's downline as the next deal comes along or as they have to pay out their $20 or $30  monthly payment to get back their $1 or $2.   I speak from the experience of  watching this over and over for the past 12 going on 13 years.   I speak from having tried some of those things early on.  

What works is finding a solid company, with a solid product that you believe in and then just going to work.  YEP WORK.  Work is 4 letter word, and work is what will get you where you want to be if you simply focus in and on the task of building, one customer, one distributor at a time.   One by one, the numbers add up.   Work with those you bring in.  Teach them to focus in and fish and watch what happens.   You will succeed if you do that.   KEEP THE FOCUS and you will be a smashing success and maybe one day I'll meet you on the beaches of the world.
