With our economy in the USA going down fast, you'd do well to pay attention.  Today when gas prices are thru the roof, cost of living rising much faster then your income,  those that learn how to build wealth  will not have to worry.  Those that insist on living paycheck to pay check may find out that there is no money left and no way to get the things they need to live and survive.   

When you work for someone else, you are trading your hours for dollars.   You can only trade so many hours, because we all only have 24 hours a day.  Take out time for sleeping,  eating, and commute time to that cubicle you work in,  even if you gave up all spare time and fun things,   you still could not get wealthy working for someone else.   You are only making their company rich, while you struggle.

Who do you think will be looking our for you  when you can't afford gas any longer to drive your car, or  when you can't make that car payment and have to walk.   How will you go to work then?  Everyone should be considering that.

I know I too was raised to get a JOB, go to work for someone else for 40 years and retire with a gold watch.  Times have changed.  Rarely does anyone stay that long,  they are either used and abused, or let go when the company finds they can pay someone less for the same job.  This is no time to be banking on that retirement being there for you,  it's time to do something yourself.
